Knox College invites applications for the position of Assistant/Associate Women’s Basketball Coach. This is a full-time, benefits eligible, 12-month position that starts as soon as possible. The successful candidate may be given the additional title of Recruiting Coordinator dependent upon previous experience and success. The Assistant/Associate Women’s Basketball Coach is responsible for assisting the Head Women’s Basketball Coach in assigned aspects of the Knox College Women’s Basketball program that may include but not be limited to: executing a successful recruiting and retention plan as assigned; integrating the programs into the campus community; scheduling, planning, and supervising practices and contests as assigned; assist with the management of the programs’ operating budget; assist with administering all aspects of the programs ensuring compliance with departmental, institutional, Midwest Conference (MWC) and NCAA rules and regulations; alumni and booster engagement; assist with the programs social media activity as assigned; assist with equipment purchasing, distribution and maintenance as needed; attend all required department meetings, complete all administrative assignments, and attend all required functions as designated by the Head Coach, Athletics Department and/or the Director of Athletics; additional coaching and administrative duties as assigned. Must pass the NCAA rules compliance test and comply with all NCAA rules and regulations. Will work with the Director of Athletics and the Athletic Department Administration to ensure that all athletes are academically eligible, medically cleared and properly insured. Must provide support and encouragement and ensure the safety and well-being of the student-athletes within the NCAA Division III philosophy. The following are the qualifications for this position:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited 4 year institution
Prior experience coaching basketball OR significant experience as a student-athlete in the sport of basketball
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and projects
An appreciation for a residential liberal arts education, respect for individual differences, openness to the values and opinions of others, and flexibility to adapt to constant change.
The following are the preferred qualifications for this position:
Prior experience coaching collegiate basketball
Prior recruiting experience as a collegiate basketball coach
Experience with Front Rush database
