The Athletic Trainer provides care for and aids in the prevention of athletically-related injuries, including therapeutic rehabilitation to allow for return to competition, while prioritizing the welfare of student-athletes.
Serve as the athletic trainer for all sports
Evaluate, treat, and coordinate care for student-athletes, including injury prevention and rehabilitation and providing acute care during practice and competition.
Maintain regular communication with coaches, team physicians, sports performance staff, and athletic administration in support of teams and individual student-athletes.
Consult and assist University sports medicine staff regarding athletic injury prevention, rehabilitation, and nutrition/supplement education.
Maintain a safe, positive, and orderly environment during all athletic training activities.
Serves a liaison to external medical providers including; scheduling of physician, physical therapy, and chiropractor clinics and organizing physician game coverage.
May assist with fundraising and external projects.
May assist with policy and procedure development.
Other duties as relevant to the duties of the position or as assigned by supervisor or designee.

Bachelor’s degree, plus two years of relevant experience
National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) certification; first aid, CPR and AED certification
Ability to work flexible schedule and travel with teams to away contests, where necessary
As a staff member within the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, the person assuming this position is responsible for knowledge of and compliance with institutional, conference and NCAA rules, both those general in nature and those which apply specifically to their job responsibilities. Knowledge of and compliance with NCAA rules is a condition of employment in this position
