Job Title: Athletics Annual Giving Officer Job ID: 24746 Full/Part Time: Full-Time Regular/Temporary: Regular Job Code: 3312 Administrator II Department: Athletics Advancement ----------- About the Position The Athletics Annual Giving Officer develops a plan to identify and prioritize new prospects, make discovery calls and build a prospect pool based on new prospects and past donors at the leadership giving level of $2,500 or greater. Collaborate with the Annual Giving and Special Gifts Office, as well as Athletics Advancement colleagues, to conceptualize, design and manage annual giving appeals. Maintaining and growing annual fund support for Athletics and the development, implementation, management and refinement of programs that engage and encourage participation of alumni, students, faculty, staff, parents and friends in supporting SJSU Athletics. The incumbent reports to the Deputy Director of Athletics for Athletics Advancement. The Athletics Annual Giving Officer initiates gift strategies, cultivates, solicits and increases philanthropic support for SJSU Athletics.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Assist the Deputy Athletics Director for Athletics Advancement with development of all fundraising goals, program plans and relevant budgets.
Create, direct, and oversee annual giving strategies for former athletes, alumni and friends in concert with all 22 athletics programs and their head coaches.
Develop strategies to increase donor retention, upgrades, and donor acquisition for the Spartan Athletics Fund annual giving program.
Manage a portfolio of approximately 75-100 leadership annual giving prospects. Develop, document and implement engagement and solicitation strategy for each assigned prospect.
Prepare written proposals, informational materials, gift illustrations and other materials needed to secure multi-year pledges or major gifts.
Actively collaborate with Planned Giving, Corporate and Foundation Relations and Athletics Advancement major gifts officers in preparing and communicating solicitation strategies for assigned prospects in portfolio. Ensure that university guidelines are adhered to, embracing high ethical and moral standards of behavior.
Provide excellent customer service by responding to complaints and/or concerns in a timely manner.
Provide oversight of coordination of sport specific giving groups annual fundraising efforts.
This is a position in the CSU - Management Personnel Plan (MPP), and serves at the pleasure of the President. This position will require adherence to University compliance training such as: Conflict of Interest and Ethics, AB 1825 Sexual Harassment Prevention, Information Security, and Injury and Illness Prevention Program.
