Fairfield University is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Assistant/Associate Director of Athletics for Compliance and Student Services. Eventual title and rank will be dependent upon qualifications and experience. RESPONSIBILITIES: The Assistant/Associate Director of Athletics is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day administration and operation of a comprehensive compliance and rules education program for 20 varsity sports and approximately 450 student-athletes to ensure adherence to all NCAA, conference, and institutional rules and regulations. The position will serve as the department’s liaison with the offices of: Admissions, Financial Aid, Residence Life, Student Affairs/Student Conduct and International Students. Depending upon qualifications and experience, this position may include administrative oversight of the Student-Athlete Academic Center staff and operations as well as additional functional unit(s) and/or specific sports program(s). Other Administrative duties and Committee assignments to be determined by the Director of Athletics.
Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s preferred. Candidates should have demonstrated knowledge of NCAA rules and compliance procedures, strong interpersonal, organizational, written and oral communication skills. Preference is for candidates with knowledge of NCAA compliance related software, including CAI and ARMS (or related software).
