Reporting to the Sr. Associate Athletics Director, Athletics, Physical Education and Recreation, the Associate Athletics Director for Intercollegiate Sports Programs assists the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics and Physical Education in the overall administration of the intercollegiate athletics program. The Associate Athletics Director for Intercollegiate Sports Programs provides strong leadership and acts as a role model for staff, coaches and student-athletes in the Department. Responsibilities include; -Directing and supervising all aspects of assigned varsity sports programs and administrative assistant, including program management for individual intercollegiate athletics teams, recruitment and hiring of assistant coaches, recruitment of prospective student-athletes and contest scheduling -Working with assigned varsity sports programs head coaches to insure programs are managed in a cost-effective and administratively efficient manner, including budget development and monitoring, oversight of travel and equipment purchases, coordinating efforts for fundraising with Office of Athletic Development -Representing the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and Physical Education at University, Ivy League Conference, and NCAA committees, events and functions -Developing and maintaining relationships with alumni, friends, fans and supports groups. participating in athletics fundraising activities. Monitoring the friend, fan and fundraising activities of assigned sports programs -Provide oversight of selected Departmental Projects in conjunction with the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics and Physical Education -Exhibiting the highest professional standards and ethical behavior with adherence to NCAA, Ivy League Conference, University, and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and Physical Education rules and regulations -Contributing to the maintenance and good working relationships with all members of the Department -Assuming other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics and Physical Education
Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred. Minimum five years' related experience required. Successful experience in athletics administration preferably at the NCAA Division I level.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, administrators, alumni and the general public. Ability to work within the framework of NCAA and Ivy League rules and regulations. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. Demonstrated successful experience in managing personnel.
