Old Dominion University, a NCAA Division I member of Conference USA, is accepting applications for the Special Assistant to the Women's Basketball Head Coach (full-time, 12 month) position. This position will oversee the coordination of all team travel, equipment, and scheduling for the women’s basketball program, interface with the Old Dominion Athletic Foundation as it relates to donors and fundraising events for women’s basketball, and act as the liaison with the Business Office, Compliance Office, Sports Information Office, and Academic Services Center. This position will supervise all basketball operations and functions in the absence of the Head Women’s Basketball Coach.
Required Education: Master’s degree or a bachelor’s degree with training or experience equivalent to an advanced degree.
Required Qualifications: Demonstrated organizational skills and effective communication skills, (written and oral). Knowledge of NCAA rules. Demonstrated public relations skills. Prior experience working with an NCAA Division I basketball program. Experience with scheduling basketball competitions. Considerable experience coordinating team travel. Some budget management experience.
Conditions of Employment: Night and weekend work hours required with frequent travel.
