Wittenberg is recruiting for a Director of Athletic Communication. The Director will provide vision, leadership and direction for an NCAA Division III athletic program in the areas of sports information, marketing, and promotion of all aspects of Wittenberg's athletic department. This is a full-time, 12-month per year position.
Essential functions include, but are not limited to:
Provide statistical coverage and historical records of Wittenberg athletic events as required by the NCAA and NCAC.
Responsible for dissemination of all forms of information (press releases, videos, photographs, graphics, etc.) via the Wittenberg athletic department's website, social media outlets, and local or national media.
Responsible for the supervision of all student and staff assistants, including but not limited to: graduate assistant, interns, student workers, contract employees, video, film and/or audio crews, photographers and statisticians.
Responsible for all aspects of the pre-game, in-game and post-game productions of radio, television and live streaming of Wittenberg's athletic and promotional events and activities.
Prepare and design all media guides, official game programs, recruiting brochures, and all other promotional and marketing materials for the athletic department and staff.
Assist the Director of Athletics with the research and information needed for the Director's speaking engagements, written reports, interviews and appearances.
Serve as the athletic department's liaison to University Communications, local media outlets, web service provider, live streaming provider, and visiting teams.
Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
For this position we are looking for candidates with a bachelor's degree and 1 to 3 years of relevant work experience.
Candidates must possess excellent organizational and communication skills and be able to interact effectively and appropriately with student-athletes, parents, alumni, faculty, peers, community members, and administrators. We are looking for applicants who demonstrate a commitment to the mission and values of Wittenberg University and Division III athletics and to compliance with NCAA, conference, and university rules and regulations.
Must be proficient in microsoft office, adobe products suite (i.e. photoshop, Indesign), social media, stat crew, and web design (Presto).
Travel is required as well as some evening and weekend work throughout the year.
Candidates must have a valid driver's license and proof of good driving record.
