Essential Duties and Responsibilities: •Compiles, develops, disseminates and manages a comprehensive program of sports coverage which focuses on both competitive and non-competitive activities and includes information on student-athletes and teams. •Provides information to electronic and print media outlets and develops publications for sports programs. •Maintains statistical data, records, and history on current and past student-athletes and teams. •Develops and maintains an effective presence on the web and with the most appropriate forms of new media. •Leads, directs, mentors and oversees the athletic communications staff. •Performs other related duties as assigned. Additional Responsibilities: • Assists to develop and implement a comprehensive public relations program. Promotes the athletic program, teams, and contests. • Assist in all athletic special events, fundraising, promotions and other activities related to athletics. Minimum Requirements: • Education – Bachelor’s Degree in communications, public relations, sport administration, marketing, business management or related field, from a regionally accredited institution of higher education required, Master’s Degree preferred. • Experience – Five years of relevant experience. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate
