Coordinates and administers a comprehensive sports medical program for the Track and Field program. Performs a variety of duties involved with prevention, assessment, and treatment of injuries and refer to team physician and medical consultants, as necessary. The employee will attend practice, training sessions, travel and provide medical care as needed. The employee will provide appropriate record keeping methods for injuries and illness in a contemporaneous format, as well as various other operational aspects of the training rooms.
Note: Position requires incumbent to comply fully with all NCAA, Big Ten (or other conference) and Indiana University rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in athletic training or a related field and two years of experience as a Certified Athletic Trainer.
National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification, Inc. (NATABOC) certification, licensed (or eligible for) by the State of Indiana, Professional Rescuer certified and meet the Board of Certification (BOC) minimum continuing education standards.
Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively communicate and exchange information including a customer service orientation and ability to interact with a wide variety of individuals. Strong organizational and management skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in athletic training or related field; three years of NCAADivision I experience.
