The University of North Dakota is seeking applicants for an Assistant Coach – Track and Field. This position is responsible for assisting the Head Men’s and Women’s Track and Field Coach in the multi-events (heptathlon, decathlon, and pentathlon) and the jump events (long jump, triple jump, high jump) and other events as assigned. This position will have primary responsibility of developing appropriate training, coaching and teaching student-athletes the technical aspects of the jumps and multi events both at practices and a competitions. Administrative duties include recruitment of jumps events and multi-event student-athletes. Other administrative duties could include but are not limited to:
* Scouting opponents
* Assisting with scheduling
* Assisting with meet management and team entries
* Assisting with fund-raising and community service
* Academic monitoring of track and field student-athletes
* Developing and maintaining social media outlets/sites for the track and field team program
* Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
* Must have effective professional working relationship with student-athletes, staff, administration, alumni and general public.
* Excellent computer skills
* Must have a commitment to NCAA compliance and follow all NCAA, conference and UND rules and regulations Must provide support and encouragement and ensure the safety and well-being of the student athletes includes having a valid driver’s license.
2 years of experience as a jumps and/or multi even coach at any level of NCAA competitions (I,II, III)
Successful completion of criminal history background check

2 or more years of experience as a jumps and/or multi event coach at the NCAA Division I level
4 years experience as a Division 1 jumps and/or multi event athlete
