Frostburg State University Athletics Department is seeking a full-time Head Softball Coach to be responsible for the overall success, performance, and conduct of the FSU Bobcat softball program. This is a 12-month appointment and includes University System of Maryland benefits package.
FSU boasts 21 varsity sports (10 men/11 women). The Frostburg softball program started in 1997 and in 22 years as a varsity sport has amassed 447 wins, two All-Americans, two Google Cloud Academic All-Americans, 14 NFCA All-Atlantic Region honorees and nearly 100 all-conference selections. Over the past 15 seasons, the Bobcats are averaging nearly 24 wins per season with 15 straight trips to the postseason.
Responsibilities: Administer the women’s softball program in accordance with NCAA regulations and University policy. Recruit, retain, and graduate academically successful student-athletes. Supervise graduate assistant or intern assistant coaches. Promote the softball program through public relations activities, alumni, and friends of softball relationships. Other related duties as assigned. This position will have a second duty to be determined by the Athletics Director based on the selected individual’s qualifications. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree. At least 3 years of coaching experience at the high school and/or collegiate level. Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. Proven ability to recruit student-athletes.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree. Playing experience at the collegiate level.
Other: Any combination of training and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in a related field and progressively responsible related work experience may be considered.
