Frostburg State University Athletics Department is seeking a full-time Head Men’s and Women’s Swimming Coach to be responsible for the overall success, performance, and conduct of the FSU Bobcat men’s and women’s swimming program. This is a 12-month appointment and includes University System of Maryland benefits package.
FSU boasts 21 varsity sports (10 men/11 women). Swimming started in the 1979-80 season and has totaled 13 All-Americans. Over the last two seasons, the Bobcat swimming programs have seen a resurgence on the national stage; the men and women combined have won 41 meets during that time. The Bobcats also continue to surge in the Capital Athletic Conference standings as the women finished in third place and the men in fifth at this year’s championship meet.
Responsibilities: Administer the men’s and women’s swimming program in accordance with NCAA regulations and University policy. Recruit, retain, and graduate academically successful student-athletes. Supervise graduate assistant or intern assistant coaches. Promote the men’s and women’s swimming program through public relations activities, alumni, and friends of swimming relationships. Other related duties as assigned. This position will have a second duty to be determined by the Athletics Director based on the selected individual’s qualifications. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree. At least 2 years of coaching experience at the high school and/or collegiate level. Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. Proven ability to recruit student-athletes.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree. Competing experience at the collegiate level.
Other: Any combination of training and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in a related field and progressively responsible related work experience may be considered.
