Intercollegiate Athletics Assistant Director of Athletics for Internal & External Affairs
Western Connecticut State University's Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is pleased to announce that applications are being accepted for the position of Assistant Director of Athletics for Internal & External Affairs.
WCSU is a Division III school and a member of the Little East Conference. This position is supported through the NCAA Strategic Alliance Matching Grant.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: prepares budget proposals and financial reports for various sponsorship events; Reports to the Director on efficacy of initiatives post-event; Assists in the oversight of all fundraising/foundation accounts; Provides guidance to club sports transitioning to NCAA team status; Provides oversight of part-time employees; Assists with developing long-term strategic plans for external partnerships and initiatives, strategic branding plan for the department, strategic planning for maximizing existing and new revenue streams; Assists in and oversees marketing, in-game promotions, event scripting and presentation of home athletic events; Works collaboratively with other university departments to achieve maximum brand exposure and revenue, including Institutional Advancement (IA) to establish and obtain revenues and a reporting system that tracks and reports on contributions from donors; Maintains the database of contact information for former student-athletes, which can be in conjunction with IA and RaisersEdge; Assists with fundraising efforts and events programming, applying a centralized approach to all sports; Develops, organizes, implements and provides oversight for all athletic and sports specific marketing plans; Collaborates with the Career Success Center to assist with workshops, seminars and internships with corporate sponsors for student-athletes, in order to better implement the "WestConn Leadership Academy"; represent WestConn internally and externally as needed.
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree is required; Master's degree preferred. A minimum of three (3) years' experience at the collegiate level, preferably at least two (2) years' experience working in fundraising. Must possess strong written and interpersonal skills, demonstrated skills in technologies, as well as a demonstrated ability to be team and goal-oriented, self-motivated and understand the need to develop student-athletes. Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations and an understanding of, and a commitment to, the Division III student-athlete philosophy is required. The ability to relate to both internal and external campus constituencies is also required.
