POSITION: Community Outreach Coordinator DEPARTMENT: Community Outreach REPORTS TO:Vice President, Community Outreach STATUS: Exempt, Full-Time
SUMMARY:Responsible for assisting with coordinating and facilitating community outreach events, programs and initiatives.
Community Outreach Administration: •Coordinate the day-to-day administrative operations of Community Outreach Dept. i.e. Budgets, Purchase Orders, Contributions, Event Fulfillment, Scheduling Meetings •Coordinate Community Outreach Scholarship Programs •Coordinate the day to day operations of the Orange Bowl Youth Football Alliance (OBYFA) i.e. Budgets, Purchase Orders, Insurance, Park Agreements, Contributions, Grants •Assist in enhancing and/or creating Community Outreach programs and events •Assist with the management of support staff including assistantships, interns and/or ambassadors
Community Outreach Programs and Events: •Assist in the execution and coordination of the Orange Bowl Impact & Excellence Awards (O.B.I.E.s) •Assist in the execution and coordination of the Orange Bowl Family, Fun and Fit Day •Manage the execution of OBYFA events including but not limited to Cheer Championships, Youth Football, Cheer and Coaches Clinics •Coordinate OBYFA Park of the Week Program •Coordinate Orange Bowl’s support of OBYFA League Super Bowls •Assist in the oversight and execution of the Orange Bowl Leadership Academy •Coordinate Community Outreach “Day in the Community” activities •Coordinate the Orange Bowl Kicks for Kids Program •Coordinate Community Outreach Ticket Donation Programs i.e. Big Buddy & COB •Assist in the execution of the Orange Bowl Florida High School Showcase
General: •Available to attend various meetings in and out of the office, during and after normal business hours as needed •Various other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree in related field plus two to three (2-3) yrs. experience
Exceptional communication skills and ability to multitask
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
Must be proficient in MS word & Excel, Knowledge in PowerPoint a plus
PR & Communication experience not required but a plus

About Orange Bowl Committee
The Orange Bowl Committee is a 362-member, primarily volunteer nonprofit sports organization that promotes and serves the South Florida Community. With its primary mission since being created in 1935 to bring tourism to South Florida through an annual football game and events, it has also maintained a legacy of charitable contributions and community outreach. Orange Bowl community outreach efforts are comprised of four pillars: youth sports, fundraising and community events, academic programs and scholarships, and legacy gifts. The Orange Bowl features a year round schedule of events culminating with the Capital One Orange Bowl in December.
The offices are centrally located in Miami Lakes, in northern Miami Dade County, just south of the Broward county line. The staff consists of twenty-nine full time approximately ten assistantships, interns, ticket sales executives, and seasonal festival supports are hired to the festival. This is an excellent opportunity for applicants who desire to make a career in athletics and gain experience working in numerous South Florida sports and entertainment venues.
