The University of Connecticut Division of Athletics is seeking qualified applicants for a part-time, paid internship position with the Men’s Tennis program. This individual will be responsible for assisting in the coaching and teaching of student-athletes, practice and match preparation and execution, along with compliance with NCAA and conference rules and regulations.
Assist the Head Coach with practice, match preparation, and team travel; assist in coordination of transportation needs to practice and away/home matches; maintain standards of performance consistent with departmental, academic, and athletic expectations; work collaboratively with the athletic trainer, academic advisor, equipment manager and other support staff; mentor student-athletes to promote academic and athletic success; adherence to all applicable NCAA, conference and university rules and regulations; and other administrative duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree and related combination of education and experience; prior coaching experience at the collegiate level preferred; excellent organizational, communication and public relations skills; ability to work irregular hours, evenings, and weekends as necessary.
Term of Appointment
August 17, 2018 –April 21, 2019
