The College of William and Mary, an NCAA Division I member of the Colonial Athletic Association, invites applications for the position of Athletics Business Manager-Travel. This position reports to the Assistant Athletics Director-Business.
This position exists to coordinate all aspects of athletics travel. Duties include meeting with travelers ahead of time to determine their needs; request and analyze quotes from travel providers; book/confirm transportation, lodging and some meals; process travel-related expense paperwork; analyze department travel expenses and budgets; produce sophisticated financial reports to analyze travel expenses; suggest changes that will result in cost savings and other efficiencies.
This position requires knowledge and understanding of NCAA, state, College and department policies and systems regarding travel procedures and expenses. The incumbent will work to ensure compliance with those policies both through training of all staff and within specific areas of oversight. The incumbent must be able to manage and understand financial transactions and record, monitor and report on those clearly and in a timely manner. Incumbent should also have the ability to independently analyze the options available to fulfill what are often very complicated travel needs, occasionally with extremely short notice.

Required: Bachelor’s degree ore equivalent combination of education & experience. Prior experience with college athletics travel, or comparable duties, including making both group and individual travel arrangements, managing travel budgets and negotiating with vendors. Preferred Qualifications Include: Knowledge of Commonwealth of Virginia travel guidelines and procedures.
Additional Salary Information: Up to $35,000 commensurate with experience.
