The successful candidate will have a Cross Country and Distance background, but will assist with all aspects of six NCAA Division II intercollegiate sport programs: men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s indoor track & field, and men’s and women’s outdoor track & field.
Responsibilities include: • Help supervise and manage track and field and cross country operations including, but not limited to, roster management, scheduling, travel operations, purchasing, budget management. • Work closely with head coach to assist support staff including athletic training and strength and conditioning for peak performance of the student-athletes. • Work with Part Time Coaches, Graduate Assistants and Volunteer Coaches to ensure organization and safety for team training, practice and conditioning activities. • Positively represent NSU at national, regional, state and local professional and service organization events. • Help develop and manage ongoing alumni communication and fundraising activities in conjunction with the NSU Foundation and Athletics Administration. • Be accountable for team performance of Cross Country and Distance runners. • Maintain knowledge of, and compliance with, specific NCAA, NSIC, and institutional rules. • A commitment to excellence in coaching and community relations is expected, as coaches represent the Department of Athletics and the university in its overall promotion and public relations efforts.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred. Demonstrated ability to recruit and sign student-athletes with potential for academic and athletic success also preferred.
