The Head Women’s Volleyball Coach reports to the Director of Athletics and Recreation and is responsible for managing all aspects of the women’s volleyball program. The head coach must make prospective student-athletes aware of all policies and procedures and recruit players each season in accordance with Maryville University, Department of Athletics and Recreation and NCAA rules and regulations. The successful candidate must be committed to fostering a culturally diverse atmosphere for students, faculty and staff.
Summary of Responsibilities:
• Organization including managing the budget responsibly.
• Administration and coaching of the women’s volleyball program.
• Recruiting qualified student-athletes and monitoring student-athlete academic progress
• Scheduling contests and practices; organizing travel and game day preparations. • Promotes a favorable image of the University. Encourages surrounding community partnerships that enhance Maryville University.
• Fundraising for the women’s volleyball program.
• Coordinating and overseeing volleyball camps
• Committing to University, Department of Athletics and NCAA rules and regulations,
Light lifting of equipment.
Some evenings and weekends required.

Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree required • Knowledge of NCAA rules and compliance. • Effective communication, leadership skills and positive student-athlete, campus community, alumni and athletics department relations. • Thorough understanding of the game and technical aspects in the sport of volleyball. • The ability to teach team and individual skills connected with team and player development as well as proper strength and conditioning techniques.
Preferred Qualifications: • Master’s degree preferred. • Full-time head coaching or assistant coaching collegiate or high-level club experience.
