St. Mary's College of Maryland at Historic St. Mary's City is accepting resumes for the position of Head Men’s and Women’s Varsity Rowing Coach. Responsibilities include assisting in all aspects of administering and coaching rowing at SMCM including: on-the-water coaching, workout and practice organization, regatta management, recruitment of qualified student-athletes, mentoring team members, conforming to US Rowing, NCAA & MARC rules and procedures, fleet and facility maintenance, hosting special events, oversight of crew club activities, community relations including community rowing opportunities, fund-raising and promotion of the rowing program.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution; collegiate experience (athlete/coach) required. Rowing coaching or teaching experience and collegiate experience (athlete/coach) preferred. Ability to meet all US Rowing requirements to become a Level 2 certified coach, intimate working knowledge of intercollegiate rowing and elite level rowing experience; knowledge of NCAA and MARC rules and regulations; and effective interpersonal skills required. Previous fund-raising or marketing experience a plus. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Any combination of acceptable education and experience, which has provided the necessary knowledge and skills to fulfill the requirements of this position, may be considered.
