The University of North Dakota is seeking applicants for an assistant strength and conditioning coach.
This position will assist the head strength and conditioning coach in all areas of running a competitive Division I strength and conditioning program, responsibilities could include, but are not limited to:
Responsible for the year round physical and mental development of the student athletes (assigned teams)
Have a thorough understanding of the physiological and metabolic needs for all sports offered at UND
Design and implement proper, efficient, scientifically sound training programs for each team
Design and implement individual training programs for individuals within each team
Work with coaches to assess specific needs of the team or on an individual basis
Continue education to ensure growth within the program for improved training practices, and up to date injury reduction programs
Present and explain training/conditioning programs to student-athletes
Conduct workouts in a safe, efficient, organized manner and comply with NCAA regulations
Test student-athletes and monitor progress
Develop leadership, discipline, commitment, responsibility, accountability, work ethic, and teamwork
Motivate the student athlete to compete and work at their highest level
Uphold North Dakota Strength guidelines, expectations, and procedures
Assist in the coordination of daily operations of Athletic weight rooms (Schedule, supervise, repair, cleaning, etc.)
Supervise safe use of equipment and advise/instruct student athletes on proper training techniques
Assist with maintaining equipment and update with new equipment.
Other duties as assigned by Head Coach.
Ability to work with a diverse group of students, coaches, faculty and staff
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Must have commitment to NCAA compliance and follow all NCAA, conference and UND rules and regulations
Must provide support and encouragement and ensure the safety and well-being of the student athletes
