The Big Ten Conference is seeking candidates for its communications internship position. Responsibilities are primarily in communications, public relations and publications. The intern will assist with statistical compilation along with the production of press releases, media guides, records books and championship programs for select sports; respond to inquiries from media and the general public; update portions of the Big Ten website, engage in social media, and assist with press conferences and major media events. Experience in these areas is preferable. The duration of the internship is one year. The Conference and intern may mutually agree to extend the internship to a second year. Interns are expected to work 40 hours per week Monday through Friday. Internship may require travel, working weekends and overtime during planned Conference events. The position may require the ability to occasionally lift materials of 25-50 pounds, walking and or standing for a sustained period of time. This job description is subject to change at any time.
