The Regional Youth Facilitator will serve as one of three regional liaisons working throughout the United States. Each Regional Facilitator will have two regions in which their primary responsibility is developing collaborative relationships between constituents to help them be more successful and bring new people into the sport. Adopts a leadership role across all regions with a specific focus as the champion of youth initiatives, as well as guiding programs and communication between the staff, region volunteers and constituents.
Duties and Responsibilities:
•Develops relationships with and acts as a coach and consultant to race directors, coaches, clubs, and retailers within their two regions. Brings stakeholders together to grow participation in the sport.
•Proactively engages the region volunteers and leverages USA Triathlon media and outreach resources to share best practices.
•Recruits new volunteers for the regional programs.
•Supports the regional volunteers in preparing for large events and educational activities.
•Works closely with regional volunteers to further the youth goals of the regions in accordance with the USAT strategic plan.
•Identifies the youth programs offered by each region, evaluates their strengths and weaknesses and partners with staff and regional leadership to align those that are being supported in all regions and enhance those that are unique within the regions.
•Oversees the region’s youth programs ensuring they meet USAT specifications and works with staff and volunteers to assess the best use of organizational time and resources within the regions.
•Partners with key staff on the day-to-day work of expanding outreach and engagement of youth to increase participation.
•Seeks and fosters strategic partnerships in the youth community that would bring new opportunities for triathlon.
•Other duties as assigned.
•Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in marketing or business.
•Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other software/digital functionality such as Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and social media.
•Prefer 1-3 years of experience in public relations, sports marketing or non-profit organizations.
•Extremely personable with excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Willingness to travel regularly and work additional hours as necessary, including nights and weekends.
•Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment as part of a team atmosphere, including effective coordination with members of other departments.
•Experience within, or knowledge of, the multisport or endurance industries is beneficial but not required.
