Overview: The USF Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is an integral part of USF and its mission by sponsoring a diverse and nationally competitive Division I athletic program. The program serves several significant constituencies, including its student-athletes, who are students first. The most important priority of the program is the progress of the student-athletes toward graduation. Other priorities include the health, fitness and emotional development of student-athletes at USF.
Intercollegiate Athletics provide a sense of collegiality, allegiance, and pride for students, staff, faculty, alumni, boosters and the greater Tampa Bay community at large and serves as a focal point for their support. Within the framework of competitive excellence, Intercollegiate Athletics at USF are also a contact vehicle leading supporters to a greater awareness of the University’s mission, academic programs and prominence as an educational institution.
Responsibilities: Reporting to the Assistant AD for Marketing this position serves as a Marketing Assistant in the athletic marketing office. The primary responsibilities of this position as listed below:
•Primary marketing contacts for softball and volleyball responsible for the development and implementation of the marketing and promotional operations for those selected sports. •Responsible for cultivating, developing, and scheduling of community and grassroots marketing efforts for the department including oversight of our Go Green Friday program and donation requests fulfillment. •Supervise student interns during daily office hours. •Assist with the coordination and administration of external events with regards to the spirit squads and mascot. •Assist with the implementation of in-game entertainments for football, women’s basketball and men’s basketball. •Assist with the campus marketing initiatives for football, women’s basketball and men’s basketball. •Assist with the design of collateral materials promotional pieces for department.
Appointment: This position is a 12-month position beginning on July 1, 2018 with the ability to extend for an additional 12-month appointment. Candidates must be willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, digital media or related field, with one years of experience in related positions; or a Master’s degree in the fields listed above. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
Successful candidates will have excellent communication and organization skills, problem solving and decision-making skills that produce results. Strong interpersonal skills are needed to work well in a fast paced team environment. Strong Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and other graphic design software is preferred.
