Reporting to the Director of Athletics, the Head Coach of Baseball at Drew University is responsible for managing and leading all aspects of a competitive Division III baseball program while adhering to the university mission, recruiting quality student-athletes and retaining those student-athletes, having academically successful student-athletes, and managing all aspects of a collegiate baseball program. This is a full-time, 12-month position.
Work within the University mission to provide a competitive and positive collegiate athletic experience for student-athletes
Recruit academically and athletically qualified student-athletes within the scope of the Landmark Conference, NCAA, and university guidelines
Build, develop, and maintain regular contact and relationships with the program’s alumni which include conducting alumni events
Fundraise for the program in conjunction with university, department, and NCAA guidelines
Monitor student-athletes academic progress and study hall programs, ensuring satisfactory progress towards graduation
Coordinate community service efforts for the baseball program
All necessary administrative responsibilities for the program Budget management
Coordinate and supervise assistant coach
Supervise Home Athletics Contests and teach one physical education course
Other related duties related to the work described herein or assigned by the Director of Athletics, Associate Director of Athletics, and/or Sr. Vice President for Enrollment Management and Institutional Planning
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of coaching collegiate baseball preferred. Excellent administrative, organizational, and recruiting skills also required. The successful candidate will be expected to understand and comply with applicable laws, University policies, and NCAA regulations. A record of demonstrated trustworthiness, honesty, and reliability are essential to all head coaching positions at the University. The successful candidate is expected to develop a climate of trust, integrity, and open communication with colleagues and students. Final appointment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check.
