Executive, Executive - Associate Athletics Director

Under the direction of the Director of Athletics, the Senior Associate Athletic Director of Development will support and enhance the mission of the San Diego State University Athletic Department. The incumbent will establish, develop, and implement goals and be responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors/prospects for major gifts. Will work collaboratively with University Relations and Development and will participate in the prospect clearance process as defined by University Advancement policy. Will conduct all business in accordance with department, university, conference, and NCAA regulations.
The incumbent serves as the Aztec Club director. Responsible for overall planning, implementation, and day to day operations of the Aztec Club. The mission of the Aztec Club is to promote the athletics program at SDSU; solicit private contributions as a means to accomplish these purposes; and sponsor or host activities designed to enhance the athletic department while providing alumni, donors, and fans a vehicle to remain loyal to SDSU Athletics. The position oversees the Aztec Club staff, policies, and procedures in accordance with the department, university, conference and NCAA regulations. Act as primary liaison and caretaker of the Aztec Club, its mission, officers, board of directors, and various committees on behalf of the department. Secure annual and major gifts by researching, identifying, cultivating, and soliciting alumni and friends of the university.
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of ten years of professional management experience.
At least five years of management experience in NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletics.
Extensive supervisory experience.
At least five years of collegiate athletic Development experience.
Preferred Qualifications and Specialized Skills
Six or more years of collegiate athletic Development experience.
Six or more years of management experience in NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletics.
Five years of experience in fundraising at the executive level.
Five years of experience in cultivation of major gifts.
Five years of experience with intricacies of planned giving.
Additional Salary Information: Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources. This is a full-time, benefits eligible, at will position. This position is designated exempt under FLSA and not eligible for overtime compensation.
