Knox College invites applications for the position of Associate Head Coach for the Men’s and Women’s Cross Country and Track & Field programs. This is a 12-month, benefits eligible position that begins anytime prior to July 1st, 2018 and will include one meal per day on the college’s meal plan while classes are in session. Salary range for this position is competitive.

The Associate Head Coach is responsible for assisting the Director of Cross Country/Track and Field with all aspects of the programs in preparation for and during season including: executing recruitment plan; daily practices; coaching at competitions; coordinating travel and traveling with team to and from competitions; operating in compliance with departmental, institutional, Midwest Conference (MWC) and NCAA rules and regulations; additional duties as assigned.
Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate an ability to oversee and execute all duties related to the operation of an NCAA Division III cross country program. Additional duties for preferred candidates will likely include coaching the distance and middle distance runners within the indoor and outdoor track and field program. Administrative duties will coincide with these responsibilities.
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree and prior experience as a collegiate cross country and track & field student-athlete or coach. Candidates must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a commitment to the welfare and academic development of student-athletes within the NCAA Division III philosophy. Candidates with experience in distance events and collegiate recruiting are preferred.
