University of Mount Olive has an opening for a full-time Director of Sports Medicine. Responsible for establishing policies and procedures and managing all aspects of the sports medicine program with primary emphasis on the health, safety, and welfare of student-athletes. Duties include the prevention, evaluation, treatment, referral, and rehabilitation of injuries/illnesses; working with team doctors and serving as liaison for all medical services; managing the operation of the athletic training room; staffing athletic contests; supervising three full-time assistant athletic trainers; managing athletic training budget; and ordering equipment and supplies. The director also serves as a member of the department’s senior administrative team and as the department’s designated Health Care Administrator. This is a full-time (10-month) position, with benefits. Master’s Degree in athletic training or related field preferred. Candidate must be nationally certified and in good standing with the Board of Certification (BOC). CPR/AED and First Aid certification required. Licensed or eligible for licensing in the state of North Carolina required. Candidate must possess strong organizational skills and effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to work independently with multiple team assignments. Minimum three years college athletics work experience preferred.
