SUNY Sullivan is seeking to fill the position of Coordinator of Athletic Operations and Intramurals. Incumbent provides leadership and direction to all athletic staff in the management of all athletic events hosted by Sullivan County Community College and to all facets of the Intramural and Recreation program. In addition, the Coordinator of Athletic Operations and Intramurals is responsible for assisting the Director of Athletics in advancing the mission of the College and Department of Athletics.
This position reports to the Assistant Director of Athletics and works hours as assigned by the Assistant Director of Athletics under the direction of the Director of Athletics. These hours will primarily include evenings and weekends per the needs of the Athletic Department. The Coordinator of Athletic Operations and Intramurals is required to work all scheduled hours of intramural and athletic activity, unless otherwise advised.
The position is classified as Academic Support Staff and the incumbent is a member of the Professional Staff association.

A Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education or a related field is preferred.
A minimum of two years experience in intramural or recreational management and / or an established proficiency in facilities management.
The ability to communicate effectively with students, athletes, staff, faculty, alumni, administrators, and parents.

The ability to effectively manage staff for fieldhouse athletic events during the planning, setup, execution, and breakdown of these events.

The ability to coordinate and supervise Gerry Fieldhouse work-study personnel for intramural events.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare a monthly report detailing the planning and ultimate execution of all athletic activities.
Supervise the Gerry Fieldhouse facility as assigned, when no special events or athletic contests are scheduled.
Assist the Coordinator of Fieldhouse Operations and Equipment with the coordination, supervision, evaluation, and training of student work-study personnel.
Coordinate and directly supervise the planning, setup, execution, and breakdown of all athletic events hosted by Sullivan County Community College.
Coordinate with the office of Buildings and Grounds all additional event responsibilities (security, additional equipment, cleaning personnel, etc.)
Oversee the preliminary and final scheduling of all Gerry Fieldhouse athletic activities.
Coordinate with the Coordinator of Fieldhouse Operations and Equipment for the laundering of all athletic and intramural apparel.
Work closely with the Coordinator of Fieldhouse Operations and Equipment on the supervision, maintenance and activities of “The Courts at SUNY Sullivan” to include the opening and closing of the facility daily.
Provide general assistance to the Director of Athletics in the execution of the departmental operation.
Intramural and Recreation Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate, supervise, and evaluate a comprehensive program of intramural sports and recreational activities for the College.
Publish an annual Intramural and Recreation Handbook that details the dates, activities, rules, and all other necessary information regarding Intramurals and Recreation.
Schedule, supervise, and train the appropriate work-study personnel needed in the operation of the program.
Identify and recommend qualified individuals to conduct special events within the Intramural and Recreation program.
Maintain the appropriate documentation detailing the results of and / or incidents occurring during intramural or recreational activities.
Prepare a monthly report detailing all intramural and recreation activities.
Assist the Athletic Department in advancing the mission of the College and Department of Athletics by performing other reasonable duties as assigned.
