•Discipleship of the students athletes in the program
•Teaching and modeling the value of Christian competition
•Recruiting and retaining quality student athletes who value and understand Covenant College’s mission and vision.
•Creating service and mission opportunities for student athletes to give back to the community•Planning, oversight, and administration of the tennis budget as appropriate
•Assisting in the organizing, planning and scheduling of all practices and competitions
•Monitoring academic performance of student athletes and partnering with Student Development for discipleship, development and retention of student athletes•Conducting summer and exposure tennis camps•Contributing and caring for the development and growth of the athletic department as a whole
•If a female candidate is selected, additional work with the women’s tennis program will be included.
•On campus housing provided in year 1, with the possibility for renewal in year 2
•Full tuition covered for the pursuit for either a MBA, Master of Sport Administration, or Master of Science in Leadership
1. This two-year assistantship requires a bachelor's degree and admission into graduate school. 2. Experience in coaching tennis preferred, ideally at the collegiate level. 3. A strong understanding of and commitment to NCAA Division III. 4. A commitment to adhering to all policies, rules, and regulations of Covenant College, USA South Athletic Conference and the NCAA. 5. Ability to work cooperatively with other administrators, coaches, students and faculty members. 6. Good written and oral communication skills. 7. A strong understanding of and commitment to Scripture, the Westminster Standards, the doctrinal standards of the PCA and the mission of Covenant College as a Christian liberal arts college. 8. An acceptance of and commitment to Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
