The Head Coach, Women's Lacrosse will lead the effort of the development and implementation of the Saint Rose varsity women's lacrosse program with emphasis on actively recruiting talented lacrosse student-athletes during the 2018-19 recruiting cycle for enrollment in Fall 2019. Recruiting activities shall include communications with high school and club programs to develop awareness; off-campus attendance at high school and club competitions; evaluation of talent; inviting recruits for official and unofficial campus visits and tryouts; working with Admissions and Financial Aid to identify potential scholarship and non-scholarship recruits; and assisting with admissions conversion efforts aimed at fielding a team for competition in the Northeast-10 Conference in 2019-2020. The head coach will also be responsible for assisting athletics department administration with identifying the equipment, supplies and related budgetary requirements for implementation of the lacrosse program.
Once the program is implemented for Fall 2019, the Head Coach's primary responsibility is to manage and direct all aspects of coaching a Division II intercollegiate team, including overseeing pre-season and post-season conditioning and related activities; in-season practices and contests; recruitment of talented student-athletes; general management and development of the program; operating within the guidelines of the College and its affiliations. Secondary responsibilities include assisting the Athletic Director in the administration of programs, projects and initiatives supported by the Athletics Department.
Bachelor's degree strongly preferred
Lacrosse participation at the varsity or professional level
Previous experience coaching a women's Lacrosse team at the secondary level or above
Previous experience recruiting student-athletes
Intermediate level computer skills using a Windows based operating system, specifically MS Word, Excel, required.
Working knowledge of NCAA rules
Annual First Aid/CPR/AED certification
Must be able to provide on-site coaching services for practices and home/away contests, sit for long periods of time and exhibit dexterity in keyboard applications.
Current driver's license
Year-round, Full time
