The College of New Jersey, a member of the New Jersey Athletic Conference, invites applications for the position of Sports Information Specialist. This position resides in the Athletic Department, within the Division of Student Affairs and reports directly to the Assistant Athletic Director for Communications and Game Operations.
The Sports Information Specialist will assist in covering and promoting the Athletic Department’s 20 intercollegiate athletic teams, members of the NCAA Division III. The position will include writing press releases, website maintenance, web streaming, keeping live game statistics, creating and producing videos, photography, graphic design, various multi-media projects and statistical archiving. This position is also responsible for monitoring student workers and part time event staff, submitting conference and NCAA awards nominations in addition to other duties as assigned.

2-3 years of professional experience in intercollegiate athletic communications.
Knowledge and experience using Stat Crew statistical software.
Experience in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, premier video editing, adobe illustrator, etc.)
Strong writing and editing skills.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree required.Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute required experience on a year-for-year basis. One year of professional experience in different aspects of administration and business practices; including design and implementation of policy and procedures, vendor service contracts and improving and updating management practices.
Strong abilities in writing, editing, web, written, social media and video content generation and proofreading. Understanding rules of all 20 intercollegiate sports and practicing judgement. Strong organizational skills along with the ability to effectively communicate. Ability to work in a collaborative team and goal oriented environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
