Assistant Director of Marketing

The Athletics Department is accepting applications for an Assistant Director of Marketing. This position is responsible for generating revenue through the creation and administration of marketing and promotional plans specific to ticket sales for assigned sports (currently volleyball and wrestling). Will develop and implement marketing plans; consult with coaches; promote attendance and sales; implement game-day marketing operations, special events, and video board production. The position also manages and is responsible for growing the Jr. Cyclone Club (JCC) kid’s club program. Will plan and direct marketing and promotional activities for the JCC including membership, clinics, movie night, football game day activities and Cyclone Experience. This position will assist with Trade Agreements/Gifts-in-Kind, Trademark Licensing processing and approvals. The Assistant Marketing Director is also responsible for oversight of the student workers and promo crew including recruitment, hiring and scheduling. All positions are responsible for adhering to the rules and regulations of the department, University, Big 12 Conference, and NCAA. The successful candidate will possess strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and the ability to provide high standards of customer service in a busy setting. Also requires solid creativity and marketing skills; proficient in use of emerging technologies and social media; ability to multi task and work with regular interruptions; and ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision. Candidates are expected to be committed to multiculturalism and working with a diverse clientele. Must be available to work at assigned evening and/or weekend events.

Required: Bachelor’s degree and 1 year of related experience; OR a combination of education and/or related experience totaling 5 years. *Experience must include sports marketing for intercollegiate, professional, minor league or related.
