Sports Medicine, Sports Medicine - Athletic Training
In this full-time, 12-month position, the Head Athletic Trainer is responsible for developing, coordinating and administering a comprehensive sports medical program for Franklin Pierce University. Reporting to the Director of Athletics, working with coaches and a team of Athletic Trainers, this role also focuses on the promotion of the physical, emotional and social welfare of the student athletes.
Primary Responsibilities include: · Developing the overall sports medical program for the University including injury prevention programs, injury management and education programs and counseling. · Provide direct services to athletes, as well as referring to external medical providers when required. · Follow and model the sports medical guidelines and recommendations as outlined the NCAA Sports Medicine Handbook and NATA guidelines. · Maintain and operate athletic training room and equipment. · Manage the operating budget for athletic training supplies and capital expenditures.
Qualifications Required: Education: Master’s degree in Athletic or related field. License and Certification: National Athletic Trainer’s Associate Board of Certification (NATABOC), current CPR/AED Certification for the Professional Rescuer, New Hampshire Licensure (or eligible for licensure).
Preferred: At least four years of previous Athletic Training experience at the college/university level.
