The Sports Nutrition Operations Coordinator for Olympic Sports will coordinate nutrition operations for UGA Olympic Sports. This position is geared towards the motivated individual looking to master the departmental operations of a large sports nutrition department and to master basic sports nutrition skills essential to success in college athletics. Team assignment for the Sports Nutrition Operations Coordinator will be dependent on incoming qualifications and experience, as well as desired career path.
Responsibilities: •Supervise student workers (recruit, interview, hire, manage, schedule, assign) and other dietetic students (practicum students, dietetic interns, etc.) •Oversee product and inventory management including receiving, deliveries, and storage room organization, including Fueling Station maintenance and quality/ food safety standards •Coordinate master schedules and ordering systems, policies and procedures, protocols, and data management •Collaborate with Grab n Go and Training Table staff including product delivery, menu development and schedules, coordination of students and interns as needed •Provide sports nutrition services to teams including areas of body composition assessment, hydration testing, supplement evaluation, team educations and education materials, social media, menu development, and nutrition calculations; individual player management and counseling dependent on qualifications and experience
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree is required
Registered Dietitian (RD) or RD eligible (including eligibility for Georgia state licensure)
Master’s degree in nutrition, exercise physiology, or related field
At least one-year experience in clinical, culinary, or sports nutrition
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Management experience, organizational and technical skill, and good attention to detail
Ability to lead, delegate, and communicate within a team
The ideal candidate has good knowledge of rules and regulations of athletic governing bodies and nutritional supplements, permissible foods, food service quality and food safety
Ability to work non-standard work week
Ability to lift heavy objects, up to 40lbs
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and data management
