The University of Virginia is a highly competitive Division I program committed to academic and athletic excellence. The Department of Athletics at the University of Virginia is now accepting applications for the position of Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach to support the Strength & Conditioning program for Olympic Sports. The primary duties of the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach include: overseeing various individual sport program's strength and conditioning needs; assessing student-athlete's physical attributes to improve athletic performance; maintaining weight rooms and equipment; assisting head coaches with official visits by prospective recruits; managing and/or coordinating services with various departmental and University offices; upholding NCAA, ACC, and University rules and regulations; and performing miscellaneous related duties when necessary. CSCS or CSCC certification required prior to start date. The position will remain open to applications until Monday, April 23rd. Required qualifications include: a Bachelor's degree and some professional experience related to Strength and Conditioning. Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach (CSCC) certification required. Preferred qualifications include: a Master's degree and considerable (4+ years) professional experience in Strength and Conditioning. Experience in a Division I intercollegiate Athletics program and experience with Catapult systems and the analysis of data from Catapult is highly preferred. |
