Supports Tulane athletics programs and external departments to promote and enhance, through digital broadcasting and video, the image of the Tulane University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. Assists the Director of Video & Broadcast in the coordination of all video operations and broadcasting content for the Tulane Athletics Department.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 1. Assist in the coordination and production of live and on-demand content, which includes but is not limited to: produce live, multi-camera broadcasts of athletics contests, ensuring all broadcasts fulfill conference regulations and production standards; handle live and/or on-demand video coverage of various events such as press conferences, special announcements and special events; manage the setup, management, in-game direction and upkeep of all video boards and streaming equipment at athletics facilities. Assist in troubleshooting any issues with the in-game stream and video boards in a timely fashion; work with the new media and video staff to produce requested specialty content to be used during games on video boards and/or during press conferences, special announcements and special events; and work collaboratively with other external affairs staff on the creation and timing of video board content to be displayed during games and other special events. (55%) 2. Assist the New Media staff with the creation of graphics, digital imaging and creative videos for the athletics department. This includes, but is not limited to: overall look and design of streaming content for Tulane digital broadcasts; overall look and design of the video displays at home athletics venues; special projects for the athletics department; and motivational and/or hype videos for all programs for various internal and external uses. (20%) 3. Assist in the management of athletics video archives, ensuring that seasonal and historical footage is properly stored and organized. (10%) 4. In collaboration with coaching staffs, assist in management of the video sharing needs following selected athletic contests in a timely fashion, which includes, but is not limited to: upload athletic contests immediately following selected contents, or upon immediately returning to campus, per conference rules; download contests of future opponents as requested in a timely fashion; and coordinate video exchange requests for out-of-conference opponents. (5%) 5. Ensure that all Department of Athletics and University related activities operate in full compliance with university, conference and NCAA rules and regulations. Attend and participates in scheduled compliance seminars and complies with all the Athletics Department’s efforts to monitor compliance with NCAA regulations. Seek interpretations from the compliance staff before acting when necessary. Report potential rules violations immediately. Complete required compliance paperwork in a timely and efficient manner. Monitor all of their areas and/or programs activities closely to maintain compliance with applicable rules and regulations. (5%) 6. Perform other duties as assigned by their supervisor. (5%)
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES TYPICALLY NEEDED TO PERFORM THIS JOB SUCCESSFULLY:
A minimum of one-year experience in college athletics, whether as a student worker or student-athlete
An understanding of control room equipment and their connection to both video board and streaming outlets. Equipment includes: switchers, instant replay, clips server, audio mixers, audio communication systems, streaming services and both SD and HD cameras.
Working knowledge of sports video (streaming and board) crewing positions and game video production.
Experience in live events, highlights and other feature content.
Familiarity with Daktronics video displays.
Working knowledge of editing programs (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite and Final Cut Pro) and production equipment (e.g., Ross and Newtek).
Must have outstanding work ethic and strict attention to detail.
Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including nights and weekends, and available for possible to travel with sport teams for selected away contests.
Must have truly outstanding customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
Must possess good decision-making skills, solid judgment and interpersonal effectiveness.
Ability to interact effectively with customers, coaches, administrators, student athletes and coworkers.
Strong organizational, management and leadership skills.
Proven ability to multi-task effectively.

Availability to work flexible work schedule including nights and weekends.
Thorough knowledge of NCAA and American Athletic Conference rules and regulations.
