This person must be knowledgeable of NJCAA and Region VIV rules, regulations and procedures. Other duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Administrative Duties- Supervising and assisting assistant coach duties, maintaining team discipline and morale, administering scholarship and grants in aid decisions, assist in enforcement of all NJCAA and Region VIV eligibility requirements, work closely with faculty and academic staff to foster sound academic growth for student athletes.
Budgetary Duties- Assist AD in budget preparation for specific sport, review and monitor budget on monthly basis, report all expenditures in a manner consistent with institutional policy, ensure available budget with administrative assistant before making purchases, operate within the framework of a balanced budget.
Coaching Duties- Attend, supervise, and plan all daily practice sessions, attend and organize all coaches' meetings, plan and supervise all phases of a year-around program specifically as it pertains to fall and spring soccer season at the NJCAA Division 1 level.
Recruiting Duties- Recruit quality student-athletes in sufficient numbers to ensure the team's performance meets institutional goals. Create plan to recruit on both local and national basis. Formulate recruitment plan for assistant coach. Coordinate, monitor and execute all phases of the recruitment/signing process. This includes campus visits, scouting, signing of letters of intent and scholarship agreements, eligibility review and procedures.
Satisfy institutional goals which include: Student success, community involvement, develop alumni support, promote academic excellence, generation of maximum revenue per athletic and institutional policies, promoting institution and athletic programs.
Miscellaneous Duties- Represent institution and sport at state, regional, and national meetings. Serve on institutional committees, serve on national committees. Work on special projects as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred.
Must have knowledge of the job duties as either a Head or Assistant Coach.
3 years of coaching experience, preferably at the collegiate level.
Knowledge of NJCAA policies and procedures required.
Demonstrated experience in recruiting student athletes.
