Work in the Tulane University Athletics Marketing Department, primarily with graphic design projects, to assist with the organization, planning, and execution of all sporting & special events collateral. Assist the Tulane Athletic Marketing staff in the development, coordination and implementation of marketing, promotional and fan experience efforts for all 17 sports, and any specific sport or event assigned.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 1. Provide assistance in creating content, managing daily operation, and scheduling of social media platforms. 2. Coordinate on and off campus advertising and promotion efforts. Designing and purchasing promotional items for events. 3. Design digital media content and email communications. 4. Assist the Tulane Athletic Marketing staff in the development, coordination and implementation of marketing, promotional and fan experience efforts for all 17 sports, and any specific sport or event assigned. 5. Develop full-scale marketing plans and fan experience menus for assigned sports. 6. Provide leadership and assist in overseeing Marketing student workers and interns and their assigned responsibilities. 7. Assist with managing PA announcers, coordinating music, video board elements, cheer squad, pep band, and other marketing needs to direct the flow of games, events and promotions as needed. 8. Oversee select special events, such as Fan Days, STH Events, and On-Campus Student Initiatives. 9. Fulfill sponsored elements such as logo exposure, PA announcements, promotions, and events by working with IMG. 10. Improve the atmosphere at each event through the use of games, giveaways, contests, trivia and music, etc.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES TYPICALLY NEEDED TO PERFORM THIS JOB SUCCESSFULLY:
Admission to a Tulane University graduate program (must be accepted as a graduate student to accept GA position)
Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
Extremely capable with the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to interact effectively with coaches, administrators, student athletes and vendors
Strong organizational, management and leadership skills
Proven ability to multi-task effectively
Ability to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines
Proficient computer skills including word processing and spreadsheets
Availability to work flexible work schedule including nights and weekends
Travel with sport teams for away contests
Thorough knowledge of NCAA and American conference rules and regulations
