Millsaps College, a selective, residential liberal arts college that competes at the NCAA Division III level and is in the Southern Athletic Association, seeks qualified individuals for the open position of Head Men's/Women's Golf Coach.This role is a 10 month, full time staff (non-faculty) appointment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the organization, supervision, and administration of an NCAA III Men's/Women's Golf program. The candidate will demonstrate and articulate an understanding and commitment to a liberal arts education, the Division III model and an appreciation for a commitment to the NCAA, Southern Athletic Association and the mission and guidelines of the college. The candidate should possess outstanding communication skills, strong leadership and mentoring abilities and the ability to create a culture of care and discipline. Other duties, but not limited to, include the recruitment and retention of quality student-athletes, practice and game preparation, scheduling of opponents, compliance, public relations for the college, management and adherence to the operational budget for golf, fundraising initiatives, travel logistics, equipment and uniform management, monitoring of academic progress, and the supervision of any staff. Other duties may include game day management and other duties assigned by the Director of Athletics. The ideal candidate will have experience in playing and/or coaching experience at the collegiate level. This position reports directly to the Director of Athletics.
Bachelor’s degree in related field required.
College varsity coaching experience or related experience preferred.
Desire to foster a strong scholarship-athletic program via creative & educational means.
