The West Chester University Foundation has an opening for an experienced Associate Director of Development - Athletics to join its dedicated and dynamic, “One Team, One Goal” oriented Development team.
The Associate Director of Development – Athletics is responsible for overseeing key aspects of the Foundation's athletic fundraising program including sponsorship and donor engagement.
Essential Job Functions:
Responsible for a regular monthly schedule of personal solicitations with major donors (minimum of 125 appointments annually). (Major gift donors are defined as individuals capable of making a $10,000 gift or more, during a period of 5 years or less.)
Responsible for a yearly fundraising goal.
Works closely with the Athletics Director or appropriate University Leader(s) to plan and schedule appointments for university leadership or special initiatives when appropriate.
Plans and schedules cultivation strategies and events throughout the country.
Records contact reports and other moves management data in Raiser’s Edge database.
Minimum 3 years development experience working with individuals or businesses to secure major gifts.
Perceptive, empathetic, energetic and positive personality and must enjoy meeting and developing a rapport with people.
Demonstrate excellent communication skills, analytical abilities, and technical competence.
Demonstrate high integrity and a commitment to the mission of the Foundation.
Willingness to travel and work outside traditional hours.
Professional training in development, graduate degree and/or CFRE certification is preferred.
