Head Rifle Coach
The Citadel
The Citadel Military College of South Carolina is a Division I FCS member of the Southern Conference and is actively seeking applications for the position of Head Rifle Coach. The Head Rifle Coach will devote full-time attention and energies to the duties of Coaching including but not limited to; • Effectively run a Collegiate Rifle program • Effectively recruit student-athletes that possess the athletic, academic and leadership values consistent with The Citadel. •Effectively communicate with student-athletes, staff and faculty •Support, encouragement and mentorship of student-athletes •Monitor and advise in regards to the academic excellence of student-athletes •Communicate and collaborate with sports medicine staff and strength and conditioning coaches to ensure the health and safety of the student-athletes. The successful candidate will exhibit competency with all decision making and administrative reporting in accordance with running Women's and Co-ed Rifle Programs including but not limited to: •Competency with NRA, ISSF and NCAA Rifle Rules •Competency with Megalink Electronic Targeting system including a basic understanding of system maintenance and match management •Display organization, timeliness and attention to detail on all administrative functions including maintaining a balanced budget, official scheduling, equipment ordering, and manage team travel. •Supervise and manage the daily activities of all assistant coaches including conducting assistant coach evaluations •Compliance with all NCAA, SoCon and Institutional rules and regulations including completion of all required reporting including management of scholarship allotment •Handle fundraising and community service engagement for the program This position is also required to manage the Rifle Range working as the point of contact coordinating with facilities and operations staff on events as well as the Club Pistol team for range use. The successful candidate will support the letter and intent of the military mission and regulations of the institution, contribute to the campus community in a positive manner and encourage student-athletes to succeed in balancing the academic, military and athletic aspects of their education. Coaches are expected to represent the institution and the program in accordance with institutional values of Honor, Duty and Respect

Bachelor's Degree is Required • Must be highly organized and have strong leadership and communication skills. •The Citadel demands a thorough knowledge and adherence to institutional, Southern Conference and NCAA rules. •Previous experience as a Collegiate Rifle Coach and/or previous experience as a Rifle College Athlete is preferred •NRA level 1 course completion or intent to complete within the first 6 months of hire is required |
