Frostburg State University Athletics Department is seeking a full-time Head Men’s Basketball Coach to be responsible for the overall success, performance, and conduct of the FSU Bobcat men’s basketball program. This is a 12-month appointment and includes University System of Maryland benefits package.
FSU boasts 21 varsity sports (10 men/11 women) at the NCAA Division III level that compete in the Capital Athletic Conference and the New Jersey Athletic Conference. The Bobcat men’s basketball program first competed in the 1936-37 season and is Frostburg’s oldest winter sport. The Bobcat men’s program has nearly 830 wins and has made the postseason in 13 of the last 20 years.
Responsibilities: Administer the men’s basketball program in accordance with NCAA regulations and University policy. Recruit, retain, and graduate academically successful student-athletes. Supervise graduate assistant or intern assistant coaches. Promote the men’s basketball program through public relations activities, alumni, and friends of men’s basketball relationships. Other related duties as assigned. This position will have a second duty to be determined by the Athletics Director based on the selected individual’s qualifications. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to overall departmental philosophy and collaboration.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree. At least 5 years of coaching experience at the high school and/or collegiate level. Knowledge of NCAA regulations and understanding of the Division III philosophy. Proven ability to recruit student-athletes.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree. Playing experience at the collegiate level.
Other: Any combination of training and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in a related field and progressively responsible related work experience may be considered.
