Position Summary: The Compliance and Student Services Assistant works under the direction of the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance and Student Services. This position will assist with the oversight of the University of San Francisco Athletics Department compliance and academic services in accordance with NCAA, WCC Conference and University rules, regulations and procedures. The Coordinator for Compliance and Student Services is a member of the University of San Francisco Athletic Department and works cooperatively with student-athletes, coaches, athletic department staff members and boosters to resolve and monitor compliance related issues.
Responsibilities include: • Lead selected head coaches in creating a culture of compliance within their programs • Manage the JumpForward training and database upkeep of information • Manage initial eligibility and act as the liaison with the NCAA Eligibility Center • Monitor full time enrollment and facilitate continuing eligibility certification • Maintain accurate squad lists and facilitate roster status changes including issue releases, permission to contact, request and complete incoming tracers. • Assist with the development and maintenance of program • Assist in monitoring NCAA personnel rules • Assist in all aspects of NCAA rules pertaining to the playing and practice seasons including season declarations, review the submission of CARA logs • Monitor official and unofficial visits for all prospective student-athletes • Manage and monitor with the camp/clinic process and the student-athlete employment process • Monitor contact/evaluations and phone call logos • Manage the student-athlete book scholarship program and serve as the athletic department liaison to the USF Bookstore • Manage and monitor compliance areas of ticketing • Serve as the USF athletics liaison with housing and admissions • Assist in providing rules education and interpretations to coaches, staff and other university entities responsible for NCAA Compliance • Assist with aspects of athletic financial aid including National Letters of Intent, non-renewals and cancellations • Other duties as assigned
Post high school education preferred. One to two years of increasingly responsible experience in a Division I compliance department. Candidate must demonstrate outstanding administrative and organizational skills with a high attention to detail and accuracy. Strong computer skills and experience with JumpForward and NCAA Eligibility Center. Must be able to set priorities, coordinate multiple projects, meet deadlines and work with minimal supervision. Candidate should have strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Candidate must have effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to write and present compliance-related information.
