Overview: The Compliance Coordinator reports to the Assistant Athletic Director of Compliance Services and oversees all facets of NCAA bylaws 15 (Financial Aid) & 17 (Playing & Practice).
Primary Duties: • Oversee and monitor all facets of NCAA bylaw 15 (financial aid) • Coordinate the National Letter of Intent Program • Process athletic aid agreements • Manage Student-Athlete Textbook program • Maintain CAi & ARMS databases • Serve as liaison for campus housing, bookstore, financial aid & student accounts office • Oversee the Student-Athlete Assistance Fund (SAF) • Monitor all facets of NCAA bylaw 17 (playing & practice seasons) • Process Declaration of Playing Seasons forms • Monitor CARA • Conduct rules education sessions with coaches, student-athletes, and staff • Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Athletic Director of Compliance Services
Secondary Duties: • Process NCAA violations • Process NCAA waivers • Process Student-Athlete Reinstatements • Medical Hardships
Required Education and Experience: • A bachelor's degree from an accredited 4-year institution and one year of full time experience working in a Division I FBS Compliance office. An advanced degree (Masters or JD) can substitute 6 months of experience. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Knowledge of NCAA bylaws 15 & 17 • Experience drafting NCAA violations and waivers • Working knowledge of CAi, LSDBi, and Eligibility Center • Experience conducting rules education presentations • Demonstrated ability to: o Analyze and research NCAA bylaws Supervise subordinates o Communicate effectively verbally and in writing o Work effectively with individuals from diverse ethnic, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds and project a professional attitude Ability and willingness to support the equity and diversity commitments of the department • Commitment to academic integrity and compliance with University, conference and NCAA regulations • A history of regular attendance and positive performance evaluations
Preferred Education, Experience and Knowledge: • Master's degree or J.D from an accredited university • Previous experience working at Division I FBS level • Previous experience with ARMS recruiting software • Previous experience using PeopleSoft • Previous experience with NCAA bylaws 15 & 17 • Previous experience using NCAA Compliance Assistant (CAi)
