Job Purpose Towson University, a Division I member of the Colonial Athletic Association is accepting applications for an Assistant Women's Soccer Coach. This position, under the direction of the head coach, teaches and provides instruction in the sport of women's soccer and assists in the planning, promotion and administration of a quality Division I women's soccer program.
Description The Assistant Women's' Soccer Coach will provide skill instruction for student athletes. This includes independent planning and implementation of a season long plan for a set group of athletes as well as participation in all aspects of practice instruction and game coaching. Assist in creating scouting reports and providing instruction to team related to strategy derived from scouting opponents.
Under the direction of the head coach the Assistant Women's Soccer Coach will recruit and evaluate prospective student-athletes through the use of New Media Technologies, organizing official visits, including assigning hosts, creating travel itineraries and managing all budgetary elements of visits while adhering to all NCAA regulations. They will track all admissions through the application process of our prospective student-athletes; provide instruction to student-athlete hosts on department/NCAA policies & procedures for a visit.
Other team support operations include assisting with academic support, fundraising activities, community servicing; including communication and outreach to Alumni. Coordinating with Total Tiger Program director and tracking and maintaining accurate records of all student-athlete participation in Total Tiger programs. Assisting in all team operations including travel, bus, hotel, and restaurant plans.
The Assistant Women's Soccer Coach will be responsible for knowledge and adherence to NCAA rules. They will complete monthly CARA logs, recruiting logs and other end-of-year summaries and correspondence within JUMPForward and in coordination with the Compliance Office. They will also perform other duties as assigned by Head Coach.
Qualifications A Bachelor's degree and some soccer coaching experience at the high school, professional, club or collegiate level. Ability to train and recruit at the Division I collegiate level. Ability to accept and carry out assigned program and responsibilities. Ability to communicate effectively and work well with other coaches, students, parents, faculty, staff, alumni and the community. Ability to pass the NCAA recruiting test and have a thorough understanding of NCAA rules and regulations. A demonstrated commitment to high academic standards for student-athletes and their ability to succeed both academically and athletically is essential. A demonstrated commitment to building a positive team culture, and commitment to personal and professional development of student-athletes. Needs to have the ability to work collaboratively within the structure and framework of an Athletics Department and University. Master's degree and experience as a Division I Student-Athlete preferred.
