The Southland Conference, based in suburban north Dallas, and serving 13 NCAA Division I member institutions in Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas, is seeking interested applicants for the position of Coordinator of Volleyball Officials.
Selected applicant shall serve as an independent contractor and shall be responsible for the administration of the Conference’s Volleyball Officiating Program. The professional responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following: recruitment, development and administrative oversight of volleyball officials within the parameters of an independent contractor program; development of a comprehensive evaluation program for grading performance of officials; on-site observance of Conference officials; utilization of technological advancements in officiating, including video review as required; attendance and involvement in officiating camps and clinics; proper communication with Conference office and member institutions relating to all officiating issues; and precise financial reporting as determined by the Conference office.
Bachelor’s degree preferred, and minimum of 5-10 years of successful on-court officiating at the NCAA Division I level, and/or coordination of collegiate officiating assignments at the conference or local level is preferred. Selected applicant must demonstrate outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with officials, coaches and administrators. Thorough knowledge of NCAA volleyball playing rules and officiating mechanics is required, as is the ability to work in a team environment with Conference staff and personnel from member institutions.
Additional Salary Information: Stipend commensurate with experience and qualifications.
