The Oberlin College Department of Athletics and Physical Education invites applications for the position of Strength and Conditioning Coach and Athletic Facilities Assistant. This is a full-time, 12-month Administrative and Professional Staff position, reporting to the Director of Athletics and Physical Education. Oberlin College is a highly selective, private, liberal arts institution with a world-renowned Conservatory of Music. It is a member of the North Coast Athletic Conference, as well as Division III of the National Collegiate Athletic Association.
This position will provide expertise, guidance, training and oversight in strength and conditioning for all intercollegiate athletes. The program will be conducted in compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations of the College, the NCAC, and the NCAA. The incumbent will also have a secondary administrative position in facilities, assisting the director with the supervision of athletic facilities, coordination of student staffing and other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree required, a master’s degree is preferred; three years of relevant competitive experience; solid administrative skills and the ability to communicate and motivate staff to achieve administrative goals; excellent written and oral communication skills; basic familiarity, appreciation and empathy with the role of intercollegiate athletics and its relationship to the College, and the capacity to articulate that role and interact comfortably with those individuals and constituency groups (student-athletes, alumni, coaches, parents, etc.) crucial to the advancement of athletics at Oberlin; high motivation with a capacity for hard work within the context of an intensely goal-oriented environment.
