The Associate Director of Administration, Donor Relations and Events directly assists the athletic director in the management, operations, and administration of the Athletic Department. This position promotes and enhances the management of the University of Oregon Athletic Department through positive collaboration with fans, donors, and key constituents on behalf of the athletic director. This position is in charge of coordinating and managing logistics for the athletic director’s schedule and correspondence. The Associate Director of Administration, Donor Relations and Events plans and develops specific athletic development events to cultivate and steward department donors and supporters. The incumbent will focus on high-end events with an emphasis on creating an appreciative and unique environment for each event. They will also create and implement Oregon Elite Plan for top 250 Duck Athletic Fund donors.
The Associate Director of Administration, Donor Relations and Events regularly requires the exercise of independent judgment and a comprehensive knowledge of the University of Oregon, its programs, personnel, and constituency groups, and the issues it faces. The person in the position handles and is involved in many sensitive and confidential matters. They will be responsible for promoting the philosophy and objectives of the Intercollegiate Athletics Department, including adherence to all department policies and procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the University of Oregon, Pac-12 Conference and the NCAA.
Minimum Requirements • Bachelor’s degree from accredited university. • Minimum of two years progressively responsible executive support experience.
Professional Competencies • An understanding of business and athletic department fundraising. • Outstanding written and oral communication skills, with proven ability to make informed decisions on behalf of the Director of Athletics. • Experience with PowerPoint presentations • Proven interpersonal skills with commitment to customer service • Ability to appropriately manage confidential/sensitive information • Responsibilities may require this position to work nights and/or weekend. • Ability to effectively interact with diverse group of students, coaches, staff, donors, season ticket holders, and other athletic department and University constituents.
Preferred Qualifications • Experience with event planning. • Experience in donor relations.
