Los Angeles Mission College seeks a part-time, non-tenured Head Men’s Soccer Coach to manage the soccer program and to teach Fall and Spring term classes: One Kinesiology-Athletic soccer skills class and two off-season soccer conditioning classes. Los Angeles Mission College is a member in good standing of the Western State Conference (WSC) and the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA).
The successful candidate will report to the Director of Athletics and will be responsible for all aspects of planning, managing, and directing a successful community college soccer program including coaching, practice and game preparation, recruiting, academic matriculation, placement, developing positive player?coach relationships, budget management, team travel, public relations, fundraising, promotions, scheduling, rule compliance, and other duties as assigned.
The position is for the 2018-’19 season, but will require the candidate to begin student recruitment in the Spring of 2018. The position is a part?time adjunct coaching assignment with additional hourly opportunities in the Athletic Department.
All applicants must meet California State minimum qualifications which range from any Master’s Degree, or any Bachelor’s Degree plus two years of documented coaching experience; to the minimum requirement of any Associate’s Degree with six years of coaching experience; or the equivalent.

In addition, successful candidates must show a competence with the CCCAA athletic rules and regulations. Degrees in Education, Physical Education, Exercise Sciences, or Kinesiology are encouraged but not required. Successful experience in collegiate coaching and recruiting are also preferred, but not required.

Additional Salary Information: This position is paid by a stipend in the amount of $10,314 for the Fall Semester and two 3-standard-hour off-season conditioning classes held in the spring and summer. The successful candidate will also receive an unclassified hourly position ranging from $14.00-$18.00 per hour with a maximum of 20 hours per week.
