Walsh University is a member of NCAA Division II that competes in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference and is currently seeking a full-time Strength and Conditioning Coach.
Duties and Responsibilities • Create and implement sports specific strength and conditioning programs for all athletic teams in conjunction with each head coach. • Coordinate and monitor all championship season, non-championship season, and summer strength and conditioning programs per NCAA DII bylaws • Educate students and staff on proper strength and conditioning techniques and safety standards • Work with the Athletic Sports Medicine staff to assist with injury prevention and movement screenings • Manage and coordinate team scheduling of the weight room • Provide supervision to weight room work-study employees • Manage weight room operational budget • Enforce weight room policies • Lead and motivate students to reach their full potential • Serve as a role model and resource for students, coaches, administrators and campus constituencies • Establish and ensure a safe environment for students • Hours will need to be flexible and will include mornings, evenings and weekends. • Follow all NCAA, Great Midwest Athletic Conference, and Walsh University rules and regulations • The Strength and Conditioning Coach reports directly to the Assistant Athletic Director / Director of Compliance.
• Bachelor’s degree required / Master’s degree preferred • Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification (C.S.C.S) or Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association certification (CSCCa) • CPR / AED / First Aid Certification • Strong communication and organizational skills • Ability on how to prioritize and complete multiple tasks to meet deadlines
